Finally! One of my favorite menu items from Wendy's was their Original Taco Salad.
Over the years they have tried updating the salad. They changed the tortillas chips to spicy tortilla strips and added a Baja salad dressing. Eventually, they removed the taco salad from their menu.
I'm sure many customers have complained about the loss of the Taco Salad. Wendy's must have been listening. They have brought back the original version of the Taco Salad. The Wendy's app states that this is only for a limited time. I hope not!
You can order the taco salad in half-size or whole. Last night, I ordered the whole and it cost around $6-$7. The salad comes with chopped iceburg lettuce, cheese, tomatoes, a cup of chili, tortilla chips, salsa and sour cream.
The salad tastes just like it did when I was younger. I loved the chili on the salad. One thing remained the same and that is the weird tasting salsa. I never put this on it when it was first out and I left it off this time as well. The only thing that I would suggest is that you check to make sure they give you all of the components of the salad. Last night, just like in the past, they forgot to put the tortilla chips in the bag. I had to pull out of the drive-thru and go inside to get them. It seems like they always did this when I was younger too.
So, the Taco Salad from Wendy's is tasty and filling. I hope they keep it around.
